Our Products

We know that quality is important. All of our giclée prints are printed on high quality 300 gsm 100% cotton rag fine art paper and printed locally. Our poster prints and greeting cards are all printed in the UK on paper stock that is Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) certified. More than half of our greeting card designs are printed on recycled card.

What is Giclée printing?

Giclée (“gee-clay”) comes from a french word meaning “to spray”. This refers to the process of creating these prints which involves large format inkjet printers apply the ink by spraying it. These printers hold up to 12 different colour pigment based ink cartridges, meaning your prints will have vast colour tone and their vibrancy will last up to six times longer than digital prints, roughly 80-200 years without any fading. Giclée prints are printed on archival cotton rag paper meaning it is resistant to deterioration and has excellent longevity.

What is Cotton Rag?

Cotton is grown mainly for the textile industry. The first stage of the process removes the seeds from the cotton plants. These seeds, which are a by-product of the textile process, would usually be considered a waste by-product but are instead recycled processed into the cotton linters that go into making cotton paper. As the material is a recycled by-product from another industry, cotton rag papers are considered as having a very low environmental impact as no cotton is grown specifically for the paper. Plus the environmental impact of turning these cotton linters into paper is no bigger than turning wood pulp into paper.

How will my product arrive?

Your product will be wrapped and sealed with a sticker. It will then be posted to you by 1st class signed for post in either a rigid cardboard envelope or cardboard tube. Apart from our stickers all of our packaging is recyclable and plastic free and uses minimal packaging whilst ensuring your product is still protected. We are working on a recyclable, sustainable option to replace our sticker so that our packaging is fully recyclable.

Why do our Giclée prints take 1-2 weeks to be dispatched?

We work with a local printer on a print on demand basis. This enables us to do smaller print runs that are processed only when needed, which reduces our product waste. Your print order gets sent over to our local printer the day you make the order, it can then take them up to a week to print your order as they are a busy independent company. Your order is then collected from them by us and sent out to you by 1st class signed for post the next working day.
